ATLANTA, Ga. - The Kennesaw State bats remained silent for the second straight game, meanwhile No. 22 Georgia Tech posted a six-run third inning to move onto an 8-0 win and a sweep of the Owls in Wednesday afternoon's doubleheader at Glenn Field.

The Yellow Jackets (41-13) once again posted the first run of the game when Jennifer Yee smacked her sixth home run of the season deep down the left field line to make the score 1-0 through one inning.

KSU (35-17) threatened in the top of the third when Klair Wells led of the frame by being hit by a pitch. Kelley Cowart strolled to the plate and connected on the first pitch she saw and lined it to center field where the Jackets' Caitlin Lever made a miraculous catch to record the first out and save Wells from scoring.

Georgia Tech extended its lead in the bottom half of the third when KSU starter Brittany Matthews once again got into trouble right off the back. After walking the lead-off hitter in Aileen Morales and then again with Jennifer Yee, Matthews gave up back-to-back hits to Whitney Haller and Savannah Brown plating two runs and putting an end to the left-hander's day.

Norie Glazebrook came out of the bullpen hoping to stop the bleeding but could not do so as she gave up a two-run double to Kristina Hull and then a two-run homer to Brittany Barnes to cap the six-run third.

Tech went on to post another run in the fourth when another single to Haller scored Morales to make the score 8-0.

Matthews suffered the loss for KSU, going just two innings while allowing four hits and five earned runs. The usually sure-handed Matthews only struck out two Tech batters and issued three walks.

Sarah Wood picked up the win to move to 7-1 on the season. The Jackets' hurler pitched four strong innings, allowing just two hits and one walk.

The Owls will return to home on Friday afternoon as they play host to the Jacksonville Dolphins in an A-Sun doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Bailey Park.
