CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Kennesaw State had a pair of top three finishes as they competed in the 2007 UNC-Chapel Hill Carolina Invitational last weekend.
The Owls participated in 11 events on Saturday and had four athletes post three top 10 finishes in three events on Saturday.
Peikko Solla had the best performance of the day for the Owls. The Kennesaw State freshman had a strong, second place performance in the 5000 Meter Run. Solla finished less than five seconds behind Jay Lumpkins of Clemson. Also in the event, senior Jason Waters finished seventh with a time of 15:24.40.
In the 60 Meter Hurdles, Devin Jones was once again impressive as he posted another top 10 showing. Jones finished in ninth place with a time of 8.43.
Jerome McKinzie finished in third place in the High Jump, posting a best 1.93m (6-04.00) and finishing just behind Greg Mays of Georgia and first-place finisher Adam Linkenauger of Clemson.
Kennesaw State will compete in the 2007 Atlantic Sun Conference Indoor Track Championships on February 16-17 in Johnson City, Tenn.
