CANTON, Ga. - The Owls are still looking for their first win of the season as they dropped their third straight match, falling to Louisiana-Monroe, 6-0, on Sunday morning at the BridgeMill Athletic Center.

With near freezing conditions, singles matches were played first with Louisiana-Monroe (1-1) sweeping through singles to earn the win. The doubles flight was not played due to time restraints and having the match already decided after singles play.

"We had another rough outing today," said head coach T.J. Greggs. "There are a lot of things we need to work on and we plan on hitting the gym hard and addressing some of our shortcomings over the weekend."

The Owls (0-3) had one competitive match in singles with No. 3 Flight, Giselle Nakakura taking Giovanna Arrondo to a third-set tiebreaker before falling 10-6. Nakakura took the first set 6-3 and was in good position to take the point before falling, 7-5, in the second set.

"Giselle played well and we had some good individual performances over the weekend," added Greggs. "However, we need to have more than one or two in each match if we are going to be competitive this year. I think this team can perform a lot better and I know we are going to improve upon our performance here this weekend."
