KENNESAW, Ga. - Jennifer Nolan hit a three-run home run and Klair Wells had a bases-loaded triple to support Missy Hobdy's strong start as Kennesaw State shut down Georgia State in the second game of a twinbill, 6-0, at Bailey Park on Wednesday.

Nolan, who homered in the first game as well, has homered in three of her last four games and has five on the season. The Owls increased their winning streak to four games. The senior third baseman has hit safely in seven straight games, the second longest hitting streak of the season for the Owls. Keri McKee hit in 10 straight games to begin the season.

Wells gave the Owls three insurance runs when she tripled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth inning. Wells doubled her season RBI total with the line drive down the right field line that scored Malorie Weller, Sarah Hesterman and Amanda Malcom.

Hobdy (4-0), who picked up the win, was relieved by Janet Kearns in the sixth inning after allowing just four hits while striking out two batters and walking one.

The Owls won the first game of the doubleheader, 2-0, behind Brittany Matthews' three-hit shutout.

This weekend the Owls head to Oxford, Miss. to play in the Red and Blue Classic. Kennesaw State will begin play against host Ole Miss at 6:00 p.m. eastern standard time.
