Box Score

KENNESAW, Ga. - Courtney Pigram scored a game-high 23 points to lead East Tennessee State's second half comeback as the Buccaneers downed the Owls, 75-71, at the KSU Convocation Center on Saturday night.

On a night where Kennesaw State honored its two newest additions to the 1,000-point club in Golden Ingle and Ronell Wooten, it was ETSU's Pigram that lit up the twines.

While Wooten was scoring his 19 points (and making four three pointers), Pigram was single-handedly getting the Buccaneers over a 10-point halftime deficit. The Buccaneers guard scored 19 second half points including five three-pointers.

The Owls saw their halftime lead dwindle to a tie when Pigram hit back-to-back 3-pointers in less than a minute, making a 54-48 game tied with 9:37 left.

The game was tied for the final time at the nine minute mark before Mike Smith hit a lay-up to spark a 10-2 run and give the Bucs a 66-58 lead with 6:18 left in the game. ETSU would keep the lead at eight until the Owls made a final run with four minutes remaining.

Brent Ragsdale took control of the game and put the Owls on his shoulders as he reeled off five straight points, bringing the Owls within three, 69-66 with 2:54 left.

After a dunk by Andrew Reed pushed the lead to five points, Wooten drained his fourth long range shot of the night to cut the lead to 71-69 with 1:25 remaining. Wooten, who has been the Owls sparkplug all season, had a chance to tie the game, but his three-pointer with :40 seconds left caught nothing but the air.

Wooten led the Owls with 19 points, while Ragsdale added 16. Shuan Stegall had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brad Nuckles registered a double-double of his own with 16 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Andrew Reed scored 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting.

Kennesaw State will be back in action on Thursday evening when they host Mercer at 7:30 p.m.
