Box Score

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Stephanie Scearce scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome a poor shooting second half by the Lady Owls as Jacksonville beat Kennesaw State, 74-57, at swisher Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Owls (11-14, 7-8 A-Sun) were tied with the Dolphins at halftime, however they shot just 29 percent in the second half as Jacksonville outscored KSU, 41-24, over the final 20 minutes.

The end came quickly in the second half for Kennesaw State as the Lady Owls couldn't get the deficit into single-digits over the final 14 minutes of the game. In a 10-minute span from the 19:40 mark, the Lady Owls went 1-for-8 from the field and committed 10 turnovers as Jacksonville outscored KSU, 24-5.

A lay-up by DeAndrea Bullock made the score 43-39, but that was the last field goal Kennesaw state would make over the next seven minutes as Jacksonville (16-8, 9-4 A-Sun) rattled off 16 straight points.

Jade Robinson scored 10 points for Kennesaw State. Guard Jennifer Baker suffered through a 2-for-15 afternoon while Gia Lockett had an equally rough day from the field, going 3-for-10.

Jacksonville had three players in double-figures with Ashley Williams leading the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds. DaVina Hamilton added 21 and Virginia Gregoire chipped in 12 points.

The Lady Owls will be back in action on Friday night when they make their television debut, playing East Tennessee State at 7:30 p.m. in Johnson City, Tenn. in the A-Sun Game of the Week on Comcast.
