Box Score

LUBBOCK, Texas - Kennesaw State had three players score in double figures but it wasn't enough as the Lady Owls fell to Idaho State, 87-68, in the final round of the Basketball Travelers Classic on Saturday afternoon at the United Spirit Arena.

KSU (3-4) held an early 2-0 lead when Gia Lockett converted a lay-up at the 19:21 mark of the first half. That would be the only time the Lady Owls would lead until the 6:02 mark when Nikki Gurley hit a three-pointer to put KSU ahead 25-24. After that, it was all Idaho State, as the Bengals closed the half on a 14-8 run to take a five-point lead into halftime.

The Lady Owls looked to work themselves back into the game and closed the lead to three at 40-37 when Greteya Kelley knocked down a jumper with 17:17 to go in the game. ISU answered right back, going on a 9-2 run, capped by an Andrea Lightfoot lay-up to push the lead back to ten (49-39) with 14:31 to go.

The teams would trade baskets from that point, with KSU only pulling within six, before the Bengals (3-2) went on a 9-0 run with 7:18 remaining to push the score to 68-53 and effectively ending any chance of a Kennesaw State comeback.

DeAndrea Bullock and Kelley led the offensive charge for the Lady Owls, each netting 16 points. Gurley added a season-high 11 points, while Lennisha Johnson chipped in seven for KSU.

Natalie Doma and Lightfoot paced the Bengals with 23 points apiece, while Jenna Brown and Devin Diehl each added 12.

Idaho State finished the game shooting 53.6 percent (30-56), while KSU managed to make just 36 percent (27-75) of its attempts.

The Lady Owls will be back in action on December 1 when they play host to Austin Peay. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. from the KSU Convocation Center and can be seen on ASun.TV
