KENNESAW, Ga. -- Six Lady Owls scored in double-figures, led by Gia Lockett's career-high 22 points, as the Kennesaw State women's basketball team defeated Presbyterian 86-66 on Saturday afternoon at the KSU Convocation Center.

"We really did a good job of sharing the ball and passing the ball around," said KSU head coach Colby Tilley. "We played a really team-oriented game today, and the effort was probably the best we've had all season."

While KSU led for the majority of the contest, the Lady Owls didn't get their first double-digit lead of the contest until the 12:17 mark when Montinique Nixon scored to make it 53-43.

Leading 59-49, the Lady Owls went on a 13-0 run to put the game out of reach of the Lady Blue Hose. Lockett scored six of her points during the run.

"Gia really stepped up her game today," said Coach Tilley. "You need for players like her to make contributions to the team off the bench in games like we had today."

The Lady Owls dominated on the glass, outrebounding Presbyterian 56-33. Offensive rebounds were also a big key for the home team, as KSU had 23 to Presbyterian's 10.

Britteny Henderson converted a double-double with 16 points and a season-best 15 rebounds. Nixon scored 11 for the Black and Gold, while Jennifer Baker, Greteya Kelley, and DeAndrea Bullock each added 10.

Kristin Kidd led the Blue Hose with 15 points. After connecting on 13-of-26 field goals in the first half, Presbyterian struggled against the KSU defense in the second, hitting on just 7-of-25 from the field.

The Lady Owls dominated inside, scoring 48 of their 86 points in the paint. KSU also converted Presbyterian's 18 turnovers into 23 points.

The Black and Gold will wrap up their four-game homestand this Monday evening when they host Troy. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
