JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - As the Kennesaw State men's track teams gears up for the A-Sun Championships in a few weeks, the Owls put forth several top performances this past weekend at the Nisownger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State.
Leading the way for the Owls was Aymerick Kolokilagi, who finished fourth in the shot put with a season-best mark of 15.14m (49'-08.25"). The Atlanta, Ga., native also showed well in the weight throw, finishing 12th with a throw of 14.84m (48'-08.25). Teammate Joshua McNair placed just ahead in 11th with a distance of 14.95m (49'-00.75).
Terrence Hooks took home fourth place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.58, while Jerome McKenzie finished fourth in the high jump after a leap of 1.98m (6'-06.00).
Nathan Haskins improved upon his season-best time in the mile run to take fifth place after crossing the line in 4:27.39. His time now places him as the second fastest A-Sun time in the event this season. Matt Auers also ran the mile, finishing 29th with a time of 4:51.65.
Jason Waters finished 15th in the highly competitive 3,000m Invitational Run. The Hiram, Georgia native crossed the line in 8:58.12.
The Owls will return to the Tar Heel State when they travel back to Chapel Hill, North Carolina next weekend for the Carolina Invite.
