Box Score

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Golden Ingle scored 22 points and Brent Ragsdale added 17, however it wasn't enough offense as Lipscomb downed the Owls, 73-62, on Thursday night at Allen Arena.

The Bisons (13-8, 7-3 A-Sun) used an 11-2 run in the early stages of the second half to break open a close contest and hand the Owls their second straight loss.

Shuan Stegall hit a pair of free-throws to give the Owls (8-14, 4-6 A-Sun) a 41-39 lead with just over 16 minutes remaining before the offense went cold and Michael Lusk got hot.

Lusk scored six straight points over a 44 second span to push the Bisons to a 45-41 lead. The Owls tried to contain the damage and pulled within three-points after a Ragsdale (6-for-10) jumper but wouldn't get any closer than four points the rest of the game.

A 19-point, 10-rebound effort by Michael Teller (6-for-11) was too much for Kennesaw State to overcome as the Owls top two scorers Stegall (1-for-4) and Ronell Wooten (0-for-8) were held to four and two points respectively.

While Stegall suffered through early foul trouble and never got into the flow of the game, Wooten had a woeful night shooting, missing all eight shots from the field including seven three pointers.

Ingle (8-for-13), who connected on a dazzling five three-pointers in the first stanza, led the Owls with 17 first-half points as Kennesaw State and Lipscomb headed into the break in a 35-35 tie. The Owls led for the better part of the half before a brief hiccup near the end of the half allowed the Bisons back into the game.

Kennesaw State went the final 4:46 of the half without a field goal and didn't score a point in the final three minutes of the half as Lipscomb fought back from a 35-29 deficit with six unanswered points.

Lipscomb on the other hand was busy connecting on 52 percent of their shots as they began to use their size as Kennesaw State big man Stegall played just four minutes in the first half after picking up a pair of quick fouls early in the game.

Thomas Pfaff (4-for-5) delivered the first big blow of the half, when he scored on a traditional three-point play, hitting a free-throw after being fouled on a layup. Lakory Daniels (1-for-2) then struck another large hit when he drained a three-pointer, his only basket of the game, with just two seconds left in the half to tie the game.

Kennesaw State shot 41 percent from the field while Lipscomb shot 49 percent. Andre Morgan (3-for-8) scored 10 points off the bench while Jon-Michael Nickerson (3-for-5) added six points, all in the first half. Jason Hopkins (8-for-11) scored 17 points and Eddie Ard (5-for-11) added 14 for Lipscomb.

The Owls will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when KSU plays Belmont in the final game of their three-game road trip.
