Box Score

Baltimore, Md. - Jenny Black led the Owls with a career-high 19 kills and 23 digs but it wasn't enough as Kennesaw State dropped a 3-2 (30-27, 35-37, 20-30, 30-22, 13-15) heartbreaker to the host Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds on Friday afternoon in the second match of the Chesapeake Challenge.

The Owls (0-6) came back from as many as five to win the first game, but struggled to close out the Greyhounds (2-7) in game two as Loyola survived three game points. After falling in the third game, the Owls showed grit and determination to respond in the fourth before falling in the fifth and final game.

Blair Snyder led Loyola and all attackers with 23 kills, while the Greyhounds were paced by Chrissy Cruz with 33 assists.

Although KSU's defense put forth their best effort of the season, holding Loyola to a .122 attack percentage, the Owls offense struggled, attacking at .113.

KSU will be back in action later this evening when they take on North Carolina A&T for their second match of the Chesapeake Challenge.
