BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Kennesaw State fell in its first conference match as Campbell marched to a 3-0 (30-28, 30-13, 30-26) victory over the Owls on Friday night at Carter Gym.

The Camels won their third straight match as they improve to 7-9 on the season and 1-0 in the conference. KSU drops to 1-13 on the season and 0-1 in the A-Sun in its inaugural season.

Freshman Jenny Black led the Owls with eight kills, but committed 10 errors for an -.077 attack percentage. Junior Ashley Landers showed better control for Kennesaw State with seven kills and a .105 attack percentage. Freshman Selina O'Leary led the Owls defensively with 13 digs.

As has been the case for much of the season, KSU once again started slow out of the gates. The Owls stormed back from a 25-20 deficit in game one with six-straight points, four of which came from Campbell errors, to grab a 26-25 lead. But KSU could not hold the lead, however, and grabbed game one after posting a 5-2 run.

In game two, Campbell carried the momentum from the first as they won the first 10 points. KSU finally point its first point on the board but the Camels won 12 of the next 16 points to take a commanding lead en route to the 17-point win.

The Owls showed more fight in game three, as the team split the first 24 points. KSU even managed to lead 22-15, but the offense continue to commit errors as Campbell roared back to take the three-game sweep.

KSU next returns to the court tomorrow when they take on Gardner-Webb at 3:00 p.m. in Boiling Springs.
