INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Porshia Allen had 13 kills and eight digs to lead Butler to a 3-0 (30-17, 30-21, 30-16) win over Kennesaw State in the Owls second match of the Bulldog Bash at the Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Kennesaw State (0-4) fell behind early and couldn't muster a comeback as they dropped their fourth straight match. The first-year Owls were led by Jasmine Ruiz and Asjia Stokes each of whom had a team-high five kills.
Tara Dillon had 19 assists in the match and also added three digs. Lindsey Plotner and Ruiz each had 1.5 blocks to top Kennesaw State. Dane Daprile had 30 assists for the Bulldogs and Michelle Degeeter had 13 digs for Butler who upped their record to 3-0 on the season.
Although the Owls held Butler (.193) to an attack percentage of under .200 in the match, the Owls hit just -.057 on the night.
Kennesaw State will look for its first win of the season when they tangle with Army on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
