Wait Is Over...Owls Win First-Ever Match

Baltimore, Md. - The long wait is over for the Kennesaw State women's volleyball team as the Owls won their first match in school history with a 3-0 sweep of Providence on Saturday night in the final match of the Chesapeake Challenge.

The Owls (1-8) dominated the Friars by taking the match with scores of 30-26, 30-25 and 30-22 to earn the three game victory.

Lindsey Plotner led the Owls with 10 kills and a .500 attack percentage. Ginny Frederick posted a season high 24 assists, while KSU's .253 attack percentage was the best the team has compiled all season.

KSU over-powered Providence in almost every statistical category, including assists (26) and team blocks (9).

The Owls will next be in action next Friday when they take on Kent State in the Catamount Clash hosted by Western Carolina University.
