Box Score

KENNESAW, Ga. - Stephanie Scearce scored 16 points, but Kennesaw State couldn't overcome 23 turnovers as Charleston Southern downed the Lady Owls, 66-56, at the KSU Convocation Center on Saturday evening.

The Lady Owls (3-6) started strong and led at the midway point of the first half when Ashley Johnson (1-for-4) and DeAndrea Bullock (1-for-5) peeled off four straight points to give Kennesaw State a 15-12 lead.

However, the Lady Owls brief rally were the last points KSU would record for the next three minutes as two turnovers kept the game within three points before Pam Tolbert (4-for-13) tied the game with a three-pointer.

Scearce (8-for-15) gave the Lady Owls their final lead of the game when she hit a runner in the paint for a 17-15 lead with just over seven minutes remaining. Charleston Southern (3-6) tied the game on their next possession and that kicked off an 11-3 run to end the half and give the Lady Bucs a six-point halftime advantage.

Three times in the early stages of the second half the Lady owls were able to trim the lead to three points, however Charleston Southern was able to keep every KSU spurt to a minimum as they built their second half lead to as many as 16 points.

Charleston Southern's Natalie Caldwell scored a game-high 20 points while Keena Wicker added 19 points. Tolbert had 13 points. Jade Robinson scored nine points and Ngoneh Gaye chipped in six points before leaving the game early in the second half with an injury.

The Lady Owls will play their final game before the break on Tuesday evening as they visit Clarksville, Tenn. to play Austin Peay at 8:00 p.m. eastern standard time.
