CLEMSON, S.C. - The Kennesaw State women's basketball team rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit but it wasn't enough as Clemson held on for a 71-62 win on Sunday afternoon at Littlejohn Coliseum.

With the loss, KSU falls to 3-5 on the season, while Clemson improves to 4-6.

The Lady Owls came out of the halftime break determined to chip away at the Lady Tiger lead and did so by knocking down seven of their first 11 shots to cut the lead to 48-43 with 12:39 to go in the game. After a D'Lesha Lloyd lay-up extended the lead to seven, KSU once again put together a small run on the strength of a Jade Robinson jumper and two baskets by Stephanie Scearce to pull the Lady Owls within one at 50-49 with 10:16 left in the game.

The comeback continued after two Clemson free throws from Adrianne Bradshaw put the Lady Tigers back up by three as two straight lay-ups from DeAndrea Bullock and Ngoneh Gaye gave KSU its first lead since three minutes into the game as the Lady Owls pulled ahead 54-53 with just under eight minutes to go.

The teams would remain close for the next three minutes of play as the two sides traded baskets. But an 8-0 run with 1:47 remaining would be the downfall of Kennesaw State as Clemson pulled away 65-57. The Lady Owls cut it to a five-point lead with a jumper from Jennifer Baker but the Lady Tigers held on for a nine-point victory.

KSU had four players finish in double figures, led by Baker with 16 points, including four three-pointers. Gaye recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Robinson and Scearce scored 11 and 10 points respectively.

Clemson was paced by Lele Hardy with a team-high 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Lloyd and Cristy Brown finished with 10 apiece.

The Lady Tigers held the advantage on the boards, out-rebounding KSU 51-38.

Kennesaw State will return home for the first time in more than a month on December 16 when Charleston Southern comes to the KSU Convocation Center for a 6:00 p.m. game.
