Box Score

KENNESAW, Ga. - Lindsey Plotner had a game-high 2.5 blocks, but it wasn't enough of a spark for the Owls as Kennesaw State lost to North Florida, 3-0 (30-23, 30-25, 30-24) in the first Atlantic Sun Conference home match of the season.

A KSU Convocation Center crowd of 232 witnessed the Owls (1-15, 0-3 A-Sun) battle hard with the Ospreys in the North Florida's conference debut. However, North Florida (10-11, 1-0) was able to hold off numerous Kennesaw State rallies with the help of double-digit kills by Megan Weisert (15) and Allison O'Neill (14).

For the fifth time this season the Owls scored over 20 points in each game as they had opportunities to pull out games throughout the night. Kennesaw State dropped the opening game, 30-23, before cutting the margins to five and six points in the final games.

Jenny Black had a strong night for the Owls, finishing with 10 kills and an assist while Tara Dillon had a 22 assist and one block night.

It was the blocking of Kennesaw State, which was once again strong. The Owls finished with nine blocks, six more than North Florida. Six KSU players had blocks on the night. Aside from Plotner's 2.5 blocks, Ashley Landers and Jasmine Ruiz each had two blocks for the Owls.

Kennesaw State will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host A-Sun rival Jacksonville at 3:00 p.m.
