• First Year of Competition: 2008

  • A-Sun All-Freshman Honorees: 1

The men’s tennis program is set to enter its fourth season in the highly-competitive Atlantic Sun Conference under the guidance of head coach T.J. Greggs. Last season saw the Owls soar to new heights as they achieved new program records for most overall and conference wins in a single season as they finished 2011 with a record of 9-11 (3-7 A-Sun).

The Black and Gold have some important pieces returning for the 2012 season, and it also has the benefit of adding one of its best recruiting classes in program history to the mix. Junior Gokalp Ozdemir who was second on KSU in overall (10) and A-Sun (4) singles wins is returning. Joining Ozdemir will be senior co-captain Simon Janik who has been a force in the top-half of the Owls singles lineup his entire career.

The new 2011-12 recruiting class features four freshmen and a senior transfer all of which can make an immediate impact to the lineup.

With a steady mix of experienced veterans and talented newcomers the time to win is now for the men’s tennis program as it will look to qualify for it’s first-ever A-Sun Conference Championship appearance in 2012.
