Kennesaw State University Athletics

Felecia Mulkey was the architect of Kennesaw State's Competitive Cheer and Dance squads, bringing both teams into the national spotlight. A former cheerleader at both Southern Union in Alabama and Kennesaw State, Mulkey resurrected a program that was formally a club program into a powerhouse that finished no worse than third nationally from 2001-2007, claiming back-to-back NCA All-Girl National Championships in 2004 and 2005, the first in program history. Mulkey oversaw the program's transition to the Division I level in 2006. In her 12 seasons, Mulkey helped develop several Owls into All-Americans. In addition to directing the Owls' spirit and competitive programs, Mulkey served as the full-time Director of Marketing and Promotions for Kennesaw State Athletics. An advocate for competitive cheer, Mulkey became a catalyst for the rise in Acrobatics and Tumbling, taking over as Head Coach at the University of Oregon. She won four NCATA National Championships at Oregon before moving to Baylor where she just recently won her fifth straight national Championship with the Bears. In her 11 seasons as an Acrobatics and Tumbling head coach, Mulkey has accumulated a 96-4 overall record, nine national titles and 62 individual event championships while mentoring 27 All-Americans and six athlete of the year recipients. Thanks in large part to Mulkey's efforts, Acrobatics and Tumbling is on the precipice of becoming an NCAA Division I sanctioned sport just nine years since the inception of the NCATA in 2011.
