About Dot Martin
Dorothy "Dot" Martin was a part of the KSU family for many years. She started out as a KSU athletic booster in 1990 and continued to support our programs until she passed away in January 1999. During her time as a supporter of KSU athletics, Dot was a co-founder of the KSU Scholarship Golf Classic in April 1995. Not only was Dot a supporter of KSU, but so were members of her family.
Her oldest son, Ken, attended Kennesaw College while her youngest son, Brad, was a member of our baseball program and graduated in 1993. Even though her daughter, Vicki, did not attend KSU, she was a major contributor to our baseball program where a memorial scholarship exists in her name. Dot's middle son, Greg, was a four year golfer at Valdosta State and graduated in 1980 before Kennesaw offered intercollegiate athletics or he too might have been a part of the KSU family. Her husband Roy Martin was President of the KSU Owls Booster Club for ten years and is still involved with the planning for the annual scholarship golf classic. Roy was inducted into the KSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.
In January 1999, Dot passed away; the KSU athletic family decided to honor her loyalty and support for KSU athletics by naming our annual scholarship golf classic to the Kennesaw State University Dot Martin Scholarship Golf Classic in loving memory of her.
