Previewing the Matchup
North Greenville University and Kennesaw State meet for the first time at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 30. The Crusaders return QB Will Hunter, who tossed for 3,035 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2016, and enters Saturday completing 44-of-89 passes for 577 yards and four scores to lead NGU to a 3-1 record. Tracy Scott and Ashton Heard, who spearheads a duo in the backfield, has combined for 704 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. Defensively, Brandon Burger returns and enters the weekend leading North Greenville with 35 tackles (14 solo). He is joined by Desmond Williams' team-leading 5.5 tackle for loss. The Crusaders finished 2016 with a 9-5 overall record and lost in the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals to North Alabama.
