KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball starts off a two-game homestand on Wednesday as the Owls will host Point University in a 7 p.m. contest at VyStar Arena. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ After two straight wins to start the season, Kennesaw State is looking for its first-ever 3-0 start as a Division 1 program.
♦ KSU has always been a fast-paced team under Head Coach Antoine Pettway, and that's not changing in his third year at the helm of the Owls. KSU ranked in the top five in the nation in adjusted tempo in his first year, and currently is seventh at 75.5 (possessions per 40 minutes).
♦ The Owls have been one of the highest scoring teams in the nation under Pettway, but after the first week they are making their name on the defensive side. Currently, KSU has the No. 1 field goal defense in the nation, holding teams to just 24.3% shooting. In addition, the Owls are third in the nation in scoring defense at 50.5 points per game, and seventh in scoring margin at +48.0 ppg.
♦ In addition to the three home games, the Owls will play a total of four games this month in the Sunshine State. Along with Saturday's contest at Florida A&M, the Owls will return to the state during Thanksgiving Week to play in the Geico Coconut Hoops event, a MTE hosted by former Atlantic Sun Conference rival FGCU in Fort Myers on Nov. 24-26. KSU will open the event against the Rice Owls on Nov. 24 and another neutral battle against Oral Roberts on Nov. 25, before facing off against the host FGCU Owls on Nov. 26.
