HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Josh Hatcher and
Tyler Simon were selected to the All-Tournament Team for the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional, announced Monday. The two seniors were instrumental in the success of the KSU offense which averaged 7.7 runs in the tournament.
Hatcher ended the Hattiesburg Regional 6-for-12 (.500) with two home runs, one double, four RBI and six runs scored. The KSU center fielder belted two home runs in the game versus Army to push his season total to a career-high, 15. Hatcher ended the regional with a 1.083 slugging percentage, good for tops on the team.
Simon had a strong showing in Hattiesburg and finished the regional 5-for-15 (.333). The senior recorded one double, a home run, four RBI and five runs scored in the tournament. On Friday versus LSU, Simon ripped a two-run homer to left that marked his eighth of the year. The shortstop ends his KSU career with 235 games played which sets a new program record.
The Owls concluded the 2022 campaign with 36 wins, an
ASUN Conference Tournament Championship, and earned the team's first appearance in an NCAA Regional since 2014.
