ATHENS, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's track and field team had a great weekend as the Owls set new personal and school marks at the Spec Towns Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Jerome McKenzie continued to perform well as he won the high jump with a leap of 2.05m (6-08.75) against tough competition. He continues to lead the A-Sun in the event. He also competed in the long jump for the first time this spring, and managed to finish fourth after a jump of 6.29m (20-07.75).

KSU's throwers put up good marks against tough conditions with high winds. Joshua McNair set personal and school records in the shot put (15.62m, 51-03.00) and the discus (48.01m, 157-06) to finish sixth in each event.

Aymerick Kolokilagi set a new school mark in the javelin. His throw of 48.56m (159-04) was good enough for a fourth place finish and now moves the Atlanta, Ga. native into second place in the conference.

Scott Burley ran a great race in the 5,000-meter run, securing a time of 15:00.75 to cross the line in second place. The sophomore then handled the short-turnaround well as he finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:49.92. Nathan Haskins (9:55.42) and Walt Keeshen (10:02.20) were just behind with season-best times to finish in fifth and seventh place.

The Owls will return to the track on April 28 when they travel to Orlando, Florida to take part in the University of Central Florida Golden Knight Twilight.
