Jason Childers (1996-97) was simply one of the most dominant pitchers in the history of Kennesaw State baseball. A two-year letter winner, his name can be found on nearly every single-season and career top 10 list. An All-American in 1996, Childers also gained recognition as both the Peach Belt Conference and South Atlanta Region Pitcher of the Year as he put up one of the best-ever seasons in Division II history. A 12-0 record with a 2.01 ERA highlighted the season which he capped off with a dazzling seven-hit shutout in the clinching game of the 1996 World Series. Childers was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers after the 1997 season and has enjoyed stints with the Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays organizations.
