Strength & Conditioning Facility

  Open Date: November 14th, 2011

   Size: 3,000 sq. ft.

The Kennesaw State Athletic Department proudly announced that the new KSU Strength and Conditioning facility was officially open for business for all 250 KSU student-athletes as of Monday, November 14th, 2011.

The new facility is located at the practice facility on Big Shanty Road adjacent to KSU's main campus, which also houses the basketball, volleyball and golf indoor practice facilities.  The 3,000 square foot facility features high ceilings, spacious workout areas and state of the art equipment.

Senior Associate Athletics Director Scott Whitlock talked about the process of getting the new training facility built and the impact it will have on the department as a whole.

“We have had a need for a larger strength and conditioning facility for years, but we had to wait for the opportunity and the funding to get the project underway,” Whitlock said. “All those things started to come together about a year ago which is when we officially started the process. When Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams came on board in April, I told him where we were and that we can do this the right way so he gave me the go ahead and we went and got it done.”

“As an administrator it’s great to be able to supply the student-athletes and coaches with something that can help them because that is our job to serve and help the student-athletes to make them the best they can be. As a coach it is wonderful as well because we can do our team workouts quicker and more efficiently in a more wide open space. It is a win-win for everybody”
