The Dean's Challenge has been created as a way for the Athletic Department to partner with academic departments across campus. This past June the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) awarded the Atlantic Sun Conference a grant to increase awareness of the institution's women's basketball program. This grant provided funding for collaboration between Atlantic Sun Conference member institutions's from which the idea of the Dean's Challenge emerged.
The purpose of the program is to award the most spirited college with a $500 donation to the college's general scholarship fund. Six academic colleges will be paired against each other in a three game series. The winner will be tabulated and announced at a half-time presentation during the game on January 26, versus Mercer.
Each college will be given 100 complimentary tickets to their selected game. These tickets will be redeemed at the game by anyone including faculty, staff, students, or families. College's can also request additional tickets in increments of 25. The winner of the challenge will be determined by the higest rate of return from the allotted tickets.
