Kennesaw State welcomes Tennessee Tech to Fifth Third Bank Stadium for the first meeting all-time between the two programs on Saturday, Sept. 9. Dontez Byrd is the leading offensive threat coming off of a school-record 933 yards receiving with seven touchdowns in 2016. He hauled in three catches for 76 yards and a touchdown last week versus No. 25 Western Illinois. 2016 All-Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year Yeedee Thaenrat returns after finishing last season with 707 yards and six touchdowns. On the defensive side, senior LB Elliott Normand tallied 18 tackles (four solo) versus the Leathernecks last week. He was five tackles shy of tying the school record of 23 for a single game set back in 1972. The Golden Eagles finished the year with a 55-19 conference win over the Murray State to finish with a 5-6 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference.
