OFFICIAL RELEASE
KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State redshirt freshman LB
Bryson Armstrong has been named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Armstrong, a Marietta, Ga., native, played a key role on the defensive side of the ball for the second straight week. He finished Saturday with nine tackles, a sack and a recovered fumble for the second consecutive week to help the Owls fly past Tennessee Tech, 27-14. Armstrong is the first KSU player to recover fumbles in consecutive games, and the effort helped Kennesaw State even its record to 1-1 with a victory at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Kennesaw State (1-1) now turns its attention towards Alabama State (0-2) and heads to Montgomery, Ala., for a non-conference clash between the two programs on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT).
Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the signature athletics landmark on the Kennesaw State University campus, is a world-class facility that has been recognized as one of the premier multi-use outdoor athletics venues in the country. In the fall of 2015, it become the official home of Owls football team and is home to Owls soccer and lacrosse as well.
