Previewing the Bulldogs in 2017
Samford University and Kennesaw State meet for the first time in school history at Seibert Stadium on Thursday, August 31. Samford's top offensive player Devlin Hodges –SoCon Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 –finished last season with 4,088 yards, completing 375-of-530 passes for 36 touchdowns, all school records at Samford. Leading rusher K'rondis Larry is back after rushing for 482 yards and two touchdowns last season. On the defensive side Shaheed Salmon, a first team All-SoCon selection in 2016, ended last season second on the roster with 93 tackles and 50 solo stops. The Bulldogs were knocked out of the playoffs by the Youngstown State Penguins in the FCS playoffs and finished the season with a 7-5 record.

Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the signature athletics landmark on the Kennesaw State University campus, is a world-class facility that has been recognized as one of the premier multi-use outdoor athletics venues in the country. In the fall of 2015, it become the official home of Owls football team and is home to Owls soccer and lacrosse as well.
