KENNESAW, Ga. – After delivering a masterful performance Sunday afternoon, senior LHP
Mason Ward was rewarded as the ASUN Pitcher of the Week after dealing a complete game to snap Jacksonville's 13-game winning streak in a 6-1 triumph over the dolphins, announced by the league office on Monday (April 24) afternoon.
The southpaw, who hails from Canton, Ga., dealed a career-high 9.0 innings in which he allowed just one run on six scattered hits, tallying seven strikeouts and issued just one walk. Ward got stronger as the game went on and retired the final 16 batters, and faced three over the minimum for the day in part of earning his first ASUN weekly honors.
Kennesaw State (18-22, 7-5) begins a four-game road trip at Charlotte Tuesday (April 25) beginning at 5 p.m. The non-conference matchup is available on CUSA.TV and live stats are also available to follow along.
