THE STORYLINE:Â
· Kennesaw State's bullpen kept North Florida's potent offense quiet over the last 4.1 innings, but the Ospreys took advantage of three errors and struck early to even the ASUN series at a game apiece, taking a 9-2 final at Harmon Stadium Saturday afternoon.
· The Owls' bullpen held UNF's potent offense scoreless over the final four-plus innings, but the Ospreys scored five unearned runs in the third and four runs in the fourth to take the second game of the weekend clash. Â
· With the loss, Kennesaw State dropped to 12-15 overall and fell to 1-1 in conference play, while North Florida improved to 19-11 overall and 1-1 in ASUN action.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
· For the second straight game, the Owls scored first using the long ball as junior OF
Taylor Allum continued his stretch of power at the plate, hitting a solo home run in the first inning to take a slight 1-0 lead.
· North Florida responded with five unearned runs in the third and four more in the fourth to take an eight-run advantage.
· The Owls' bullpen was lights out Saturday as
Jordan Krueger,
Jordan Versteeg and
Taylor Wilkes allowed a combined five hits, no runs and struck out three in 4.1 frames.
· Versteeg, a Kennesaw native, allowed no runs on no hits and issued two walks in 1.2 frames, while Wilkes worked a scoreless 2.0 frames giving up just two hits.
· Krueger, a freshman RHP from Acworth, Ga., worked 0.2 innings allowing three hits, as all three kept the Ospreys' bats quiet after the fourth inning.
· Offensively, Allum (1-for-3, RBI),
Chris Erwin (2-for-4) and Upshaw (2-for-4, RBI) led the lineup with five of the Owls' seven hits.

Taylor Allum's solo home run in the first inning added to his ASUN-leading HR total of 11. The junior right fielder has tallied a home run in four of his last eight games, and three in his last four games.

Grant Williams' single in the third inning extended his hitting streak to 12 games. His 12-game hitting streak is a team and season high for the junior.
·
Austin Upshaw tallied two hits on the afternoon, marking the 12
th time this season the junior recorded two or more hits in a ballgame –which leads the team.
