THE STORYLINE:
·  Kennesaw State scored four unanswered runs in the sixth and seventh innings to overcome a three-run deficit Saturday evening, defeating High Point 5-4 at Stillwell Stadium to settle for a split on the day's doubleheader.
· Junior Taylor Allum went 5-for-8 (.625) with two runs and three RBI throughout the twinbill, driving in 60 percent of the Owls', while freshman reliever Taylor Wilkes picked up his first collegiate victory in game two.
· With the split, KSU sits 7-8 overall while High Point heads into the new week with an 8-6 mark.

GAME 1:
· RHP AJ Moore, a Dacula, Ga., native, hung tough Saturday afternoon in game one of the Owls' twinbill, allowing two runs on five hits in 6.0 innings of work.
· The righty struck out six batters on the day, and punched out at least one Panther in five of his six innings.
· After four scoreless frames, Kennesaw State broke through in the bottom of the fifth when Allum added to his home run total, hitting a solo homer over the right field wall to pull KSU within 2-1.
· The Owls continued their offense when junior Griffin Helms doubled to center and later scored on a throwing error, before KSU took the lead with an RBI single off Austin Upshaw's bat, 3-2.
· High Point, however, answered with three runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to earn a 6-3 victory.
· Offensively, Kennesaw State was led by Upshaw (2-for-4, RBI), Allum (2-for-4, RBI), Helms (1-for-3), Matt Mixon (1-for-3), and Terence Norman (1-for-2).

GAME 2:
· After jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to an RBI single off Allum's bat, High Point recovered and took a 4-1 lead into the sixth by scoring single runs in the second, third, fourth and fifth frames.
· But, the left-handed hitter from Grayson continued his hitting ways and knocked his seventh HR of the season over the right field wall to jumpstart KSU's offense.
· The Owls took advantage of two High Point errors in the seventh and freshman Terence Norman drove in an RBI off a sac fly to give Kennesaw State a 5-4 lead. In the inning, KSU scored three runs on just one hit, scoring three unearned runs.
· That score remained true because of the strong efforts of RHP Taylor Wilkes. The righty allowed just one hit and gave up no runs in 3.0 innings of relief work, picking up his first collegiate victory. · Allum again paced the Owls offensively, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. LaDonis Bryant reached base safely in four of his five at-bats, and Norman knocked in an RBI.

#NESTNOTES:
· Senior RHP Gabe Friese now sits 2.0 innings away from becoming KSU's D-I all-time leader in program history for innings thrown. He also sits three starts shy from becoming the all-time leader in career starts.
· Taylor Allum continued to add to his career year with the long ball, knocking his sixth and seventh HR of the season. His previous career best for a single season was two home runs, and he had surpassed that by five in just 15 games.
· Allum has seven extra base hits in 15 games, and all of them being home runs.
· Freshman Terence Norman, a Kennesaw native, recorded a hit in both games throughout the twinbill in his fourth career start.
