KENNESAW, Ga. āĀ For the fourth consecutive week, the Kennesaw State football team ranked inside the Top 25, marking the fifth time in the program's three-year history the Owls are listed amongst the top teams. The OwlsĀ have won a school-record 10 straight games. Kennesaw State climbed up the rankings to No. 16 and No. 18 in the FCS Coaches Poll and STATS FCS Polls, respectively.
The Owls (10-1, 5-0) set a single-season program record 10 wins after their impressive 52-21 victory over Monmouth last week. KSU's 52 points marked the most scored against a Big South Conference opponent in program history. Ā The win earned Kennesaw State the program's first Big South Conference Championship title and in automatic berth to the FCS playoffs.
Kennesaw State's No. 16 ranking is the highest in program history. This is the first time that the Owls have finished the regular season ranked in program history. Ā
The first round of the FCS Playoffs begins Saturday as No. 16/18 Kennesaw State (9-1,4-0) hosts No. 14/16Ā Samford (8-3, 6-2) in The Nest. The winner of the Owls and Bulldogs matchup secures a trip to #3 Jacksonville State in the second round of the FCS Playoffs on Saturday, December 2. The Owls and Bulldogs are scheduled to kickoff at 2 p.m. on ESPN3 at The Bank. The game can also be heard on ESPN Radio 1230 and 106.3.
Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the signature athletics landmark on the Kennesaw State University campus, is a world-class facility that has been recognized as one of the premier multi-use outdoor athletics venues in the country. In the fall of 2015, it become the official home of Owls football team and is home to Owls soccer and lacrosse as well.
