KENNESAW – Monday marked a big day for the Kennesaw State football team from an awards standpoint as junior QB Chandler Burks was named the STATS FCS National and Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Meanwhile, redshirt freshman LB Bryson Armstrong collected Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors. Burks picked up his fourth career conference Player of the Week accolade and first national honor.

Burks led Kennesaw State to the outright Big South championship as he tied the Big South single-game record of four rushing touchdowns in addition to 131 rushing yards in the Owls' 52-21 win over Monmouth.  He added a TD pass and 114 passing yards to finish the afternoon with 245 yards of offense (8.75 yards per play).

Armstrong led the Owls with 10 total tackles (eight solo) and recorded 1.5 tackles-for-loss, including a sack.  He also forced one fumble and recovered another.  He helped KSU compile a program record-tying five turnovers as well as keep the Hawks off the scoreboard in the second half.
