KENNESAW, Ga. – Head coach
Brian Bohannon, who has guided the Kennesaw State football program to a 10-1 record and Big South Conference title in just its third season of existence, was named one of 18 finalists for the STATS FCS Eddie Robinson Award, presented annually to the nation's top FCS head coach.

Bohannon is joined on the list by Mike Ayers (Wofford), Al Bagnoli (Columbia), Rod Broadway (North Carolina A&T), Kevin Callahan (Monmouth), Dave Cecchini (Valpsraiso), Curt Cignetti (Elon), Charlie Fisher (Western Illinois), John Grass (Jacksonville State), Will Healy (Austin Peay), Mike Houston (James Madison), Dan Hunt (Colgate), Chris Kileman (North Dakota State), Mike London (Howard), Fred McNair (Alcorn State), Tim Rebowe (Nicholls), Pete Rossomando (Central Connecticut State) and Demario Warren (Southern Utah).

During his three seasons at the helm, Bohannon has guided the Owls to a 24-9 record and their first NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs appearance in 2017. Kennesaw State is currently riding a 10-game winning streak and will host Samford in the opening round of the playoffs Saturday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

Under Bohannon's leadership, KSU has garnered a No. 18 national ranking after completing a 5-0 Big South Conference record and posting an undefeated regular season mark (6-0) at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

Kennesaw State became the second team since 2008 to reach the FCS playoffs in its third year, joining Old Dominion, which accomplished the feat in 2011.

Named Named for the legendary coach of Grambling State, past winners of the Robinson Award include Mark Duffner, Erk Russell, Chris Ault, Jim Tressel, Houston Nutt, Andy Talley, Paul Johnson, Joe Glenn, Jerry Kill, Jerry Moore and two-time winners Mickey Matthews, Sean McDonnell and Craig Bohl.

This year's list includes at least one coach from all 13 FCS conferences. A national panel of over 150 sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries will select the recipient.
Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the signature athletics landmark on the Kennesaw State University campus, is a world-class facility that has been recognized as one of the premier multi-use outdoor athletics venues in the country. In the fall of 2015, it become the official home of Owls football team and is home to Owls soccer and lacrosse as well.
