Henriette Nielsen was tabbed ASUN Conference Women's Golfer of the Week; the conference announced Thursday (Nov.2).
"Henriette is very deserving of this honor," said head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead. "She has worked tirelessly this fall season. She is a great leader on and off the course."
Nielsen was the Owls top finisher in a loaded field at the Ladies Intercollegiate Invitational. She finished second with rounds of 77-69 for a 2-over par total of 146 in a tournament that was shortened to 36 holes due to weather. Her second-place finish was her career-best finish and helped lead KSU to a tie for first with Louisville for the team title. The Sorø, Denmark native led the field with nine birdies in the event. She beat two players that were ranked in the top 100 in the field. She currently ranks 171 in the Golfstat rankings and has helped lead the Owls to No.34 Golfstat team ranking.
The Owls will return to action at the Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf and Country Club, hosted by Jacksonville University on Feb. 19-20 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
