KENNESAW, Ga. – For the second time in program's three-year history, the Kennesaw State football team is ranked in the Top 25. The Owls, who are 7-1 overall and have won a school-record seven straight games, cracked both the FCS Coaches and STATS FCS polls this week at No. 25.
The Owls (7-1, 3-0) are riding a seven-game winning streak, including a program-best 3-0 start in Big South action. Monmouth (7-1, 2-0), which the Owls host at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on November 18, is also ranked this week at No. 24 in the FCS Coaches Poll.
During this seven-game winning streak, Kennesaw State has outscored opponents 220-96 and out-rushed them 2,342-619 ( 1,723 margin). KSU enters the week as the nation's top rushing team in the country, averaging 329.4 yards per game.
Last season, when the Owls earned their first Top 25 ranking at No. 22, the team was 8-2 heading into the regular-season finale at Charleston Southern. The team has been receiving votes in each of the Top 25 polls this entire season.
Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the signature athletics landmark on the Kennesaw State University campus, is a world-class facility that has been recognized as one of the premier multi-use outdoor athletics venues in the country. In the fall of 2015, it become the official home of Owls football team and is home to Owls soccer and lacrosse as well.
