Previewing the Skyhawks for 2016
Point and Kennesaw State met for the first time during Kennesaw State's inaugural season with the Owls beating the Skyhawks 56-17. The teams meet again at Fifth Third Bank Stadium when Point looks to even the series on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. on Peachtree TV. New head coach Julius Dixon is no stranger to the Owls, having faced them last season as the defensive coordinator coordinator at Shorter. Leading rusher Danyale Wicker is back after averaging 38.2 yards per game and totaling 420 yards on the ground last season. Also back is Brandon Robertson, who averaged 56.8 receiving yards per game, scoring 7 touchdowns in the 2015 season. Leading passer Charles Fortis, who totaled 36 touchdowns (32 passing, 4 rushing) will not be returning, along with linebacker Jared Moyston, who totaled 85 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, four sacks, one interception, and two recovered fumbles.

Chaston Bennett reeled in two catches for 90 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 70 yards and two more scores in the Owls' win over Point last season.
