KENNESAW, Ga. –
Kennesaw State will host its second annual Griffin's Game on Friday, October 7 at 7 p.m. against Florida Gulf Coast.

Griffin's Game was started a season ago when Griffin Schunzel, head coach Keith Schunzel and volunteer assistant Briana Schunzel's son, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March of 2015.

"Griffin's game is about hope, love and community," Keith said. "Bri, Griffin and I have felt so much love and support in our own fight. From very personal experience, when people give money it's about so much more than the money, it's their way of saying, we love you, keep fighting and we're with you."

In last year's annual Griffin's Game against NJIT, the Owls raised over 7,000 dollars that went directly to two families to help them in their fight. This year, the Owl volleyball community will be raising money for an eight-year old boy named Christopher Watkins, who has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Along with selling t-shirts at the game again, there will also be an option for people to buy t-shirts online right HERE ahead of time.

"I want to thank all of the people that came out and supported us last year," Schunzel said. "It was an unbelievable night and we raised a ton of money. I want to challenge everybody this year to come out and help raise money for the Watkins family that is part of our community and can use our love, help and support."

With the game coming up in a little over a month, KSUOwls.com also sat down and interviewed the Schunzel's to get an update on Griffin and where he is in the treatment process in a video below:
