Previewing the Buccaneers for 2016
ETSU and Kennesaw State each debuted their football programs last season when the Owls beat the Buccaneers 56-16 in the season-opener in Johnson City. The teams meet again at Fifth Third Bank Stadium to open the 2016 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3. Leading rusher Jajuan Stinson is back after averaging 58.6 yards per game on the ground and scoring five times last season, as is single-caller Austin Herink, who totaled 11 touchdowns (six passing, five rushing). Linebacker Dylan Weigel is back after a monster season in 2015 that saw him amass 127 tackles, 10.5 for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles.
