Previewing the Hawks in 2016
Monmouth and Kennesaw State met last season with the Owls winning 23-13 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The conference rivals meet again this year in West Long Branch, N.J. at Kessler Field on Saturday, October 29. Returning for the Hawks is QB Cody Williams, who put up big numbers last year by throwing for 1,868 yards and 12 touchdowns. Also back in All-Big South RB Lavon Chaney, who rushed for more than 800 yards and scored seven seven touchdowns. Kennesaw State recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach Liam Klein was a three-year starter and team captain at Monmouth, graduating in 2001.
