A-SUN RELEASE KENNESAW, Ga. – Senior
Kaew Preamchuen was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday (Sept. 17) by the league office.
It is the fourth career Women's Golfer of the Week for the Chachoengsao, Thailand native and the first for the Owls this season.
"Kaew has continued to work extremely hard this fall and is deserving of this award," said head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead. "She has set some high goals for her senior year and is putting herself in contention each week to win. She continues to represent KSU with great pride and I am very proud of her."
Preamchuen equaled a career-best finish with a third place showing at the Cardinal Cup on Tuesday and led the Owls to a third place finish in the 17-team tournament. She opened the event with a season-low two-under par 70, followed by rounds of 73 and 76 for a three-over par total of 219, just six strokes off of medalist honors. Her 219 total was also the low 54-hole total for a KSU individual this season.
"This means a lot to me," said Preamchuen. "My hard work is finally paying off and this also makes me want to work harder. I really appreciate being honored."
Preamchuen and the Owls will be back in action next week with the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman on Sept. 21-23 in Greenville, S.C.
