Watch | USA Outdoor National Championships | USA Junior Outdoor National Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa – Kennesaw State track and field All-American Andre Dorsey (Chalmette, LA / Chalmette HS) and rising sophomore Zac Davis (Buford, Ga. / Mill Creek HS) will be performing on the national stage this week when they compete in the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships, respectively, at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University.

Dorsey, a rising junior who placed 14th at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships earlier this month, will participate in the triple jump that gets underway at 7 p.m. (ET) on Thursday (June 20). Davis begins his competition on Friday (June 21) when he competes in the 400 meter at 2:15 p.m. (ET).

“Our team and staff have worked very hard to elevate the track and field program at Kennesaw State,” head coach Andy Eggerth said. “It was great to have an unprecedented number of athletes competing at the NCAA Championships, and now a step higher at the USA Outdoor Championships.

“To my knowledge, Andre is Kennesaw State’s first athlete to compete at the USA Outdoor Championships,” Eggerth added.  “They only accepted the top 16 in the nation and as we all know the USA is the strongest country in the world, so Andre is in very elite company.  If he finishes top three, he could earn himself a spot to the World University Games in Kazan, Russia or the World Championships in Moscow, Russia.”

“I believe Zac is one of two athletes in Kennesaw State history that have competed at the USA Junior Outdoor Championships. A great performance here could land him at the World University Games, or the Pan American Junior Championships in Medellin, Colombia,” Eggerth said.  “I am very proud of the work that both of these guys have put into representing themselves and Kennesaw State.”

Rising junior Hannah Wood also qualified for the USA Junior Championships in the 100 meter, but is unable to participate due to currently being enrolled in summer school.
