T&F: Owls to Host Track and Field Coaches Clinic

Coaches Clinic will be Saturday, January 25

12/13/2013 12:04:00 PM

Kennesaw, Ga. – The Kennesaw State track and field coaching staff are inviting coaches to continue their education on Saturday, January 25th from 10 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. for a fundraiser to raise money for the Golden Soldiers Charity.

The price is $20 if received by January 17th, or $25 after January 17th. Out of the $20 it costs, $10 will go to the "Golden Soldiers", which is a non-profit organization who provides year-round events, activities and services for families and individuals with developmental disabilities. The other $10 provides you an all you can eat lunch on campus.

"We are excited to serve our community," Director of Track and Field Andy Eggerth said. "We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and experiences with the Track and Field community in Georgia, and the proceeds will go to benefit the Golden Soldiers Charity."

The event will feature presentations by the Owls track and field coaching staff on Biomehanics of Sprinting (Blocks, Acceleration and Max Velocity), throws, high school distance training, age-appropriate training, strength training, periodization and training design. There also will be a presentation on the recruiting process and eligibility standards and procedures. A question and answer session will also take place.

Eggerth is the 2013 NCAA South Regional Indoor Coach of the Year and five-time Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year. Agne Eggerth is a two time Olympian (2000 and 2004) in the 100m dash. Duane Morris has coached 35 Atlantic Sun All-Conference athletes, and Joel Pearson holds Level 2 certifications in Endurance, Combined Events and Jumps.
