Kennesaw State Moves up two Places to Seventh at Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational

WEST POINT, Miss. – The Kennesaw State women’s golf team moved up two places in the standings following Tuesday’s second round play at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational that is being played at the par-72, 6,204-yard Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.

The Owls recorded a 12-over par 300, nine shots better than Monday’s opening round, and are currently in seventh place with a 36-hole total of 33-over par 609. Kennesaw State is two shots out of fifth place, trailing Cincinnati and Southern Mississippi, both of whom hold 31-over par scores of 607.

Arkansas, which opened the day four shots behind first-round leader Tulane, turned in a 3-over total of 301 to post Tuesday’s low round and take a one-shot lead over the Green Wave heading into Wednesday’s final round. The Razorbacks are at 9-over par 585. Kentucky (588) is third and followed by host Mississippi State (598).

For the second day in a row, sophomore Léa Charpier (Paris, France//Lycee de Chatenay Malabry) carded the low round of the day for Kennesaw State after recording a 1-under par 71 and is tied for ninth with a 2-over par total of 146, seven shots behind Gemma Dryburgh of Tulane. Dryburgh holds a two-shot lead over her teammate, Emily Penttila and Arkansas’ Emma Lavy. Both players are at 3-under par 141.

Charpier enters Wednesday’s play seeking her fourth career Top 10 showing, and first since tying for seventh place at the 2012 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.

Sophomore Kaew Preamchuen (Chachoengsao, Thailand/Datdaruni School) is tied for 20th at 7-over par 151 and Ines Lescudier (Marseille, France/Tulane University) is tied for 32nd with a 154 total. Senior Ket Preamchuen (Chachoengsao, Thailand / Benchamaratrungsarit 2 School) is tied for 44th place with a score of 159 and junior Lindsay Adams (Lawrenceville, Ga./Great Atlanta Christian) is tied for 47th with a 160 total.

Wednesday’s final round can be followed live on the Internet at www.golfstatresults.com. Kennesaw State will be grouped with Murray State and South Florida for a second consecutive day and is scheduled to tee off at 9:30 a.m. (EDT).
