Keep Cobb Beautiful
KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Owls volleyball team was recognized for their service to the Kennesaw community this past week, when an Adopt-a-Highway sign went up in their name on Shiloh Drive right near the KSU campus.
The sign was awarded to the Owls for their highway cleanup efforts over the past year. They have spent time doing trash pick-up on Shiloh Drive between Cherokee Street and North Booth Road on four occasions in conjunction with “Keep Cobb Beautiful,” an initiative spearheaded by the Cobb County Government that encourages residents to be involved in eco-friendly activities.
"We were looking for something we could do that would continuously keep up involved with the community, and this seemed like the perfect fit," Owls head coach Karen Weatherington said. "Working with Keep Cobb Beautiful has been truly been a satisfying experience, and our student-athletes have really enjoyed it."
Each Owl has been out to clean-up in their adopted area on at least two occasions, and were awarded the sign upon their fourth visit.
