SATURDAY RESULTS

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Freshman Tobi Menhofer (Pfronten, Germany/Gymnasium Hohenschwangau) tallied back-to-back singles wins in the ITA Regionals main draw consolation to advance to the consolation quarterfinals on Friday at the Indoor Courts on the campus of Florida State.

“I am very proud of the way that Tobi played today against two experienced opponents,” said Head Coach #T.J. Greggs#. “Tomorrow is another tough test against Florida, but Tobi can compete with anyone. We are hoping to be around on Monday for the finals.”

Menhofer opened the consolation draw with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 win over FAU’s Will Neuner, before posting a 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory against Jordi Vives of Florida Gulf Coast. Menhofer is scheduled to play Florida’s Mike Alford on Saturday at 9 a.m. ET, for a berth into the consolation semifinals.

Sophomore Alex Toliver (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral HS) dropped his first round consolation match 7-5, 6-4 to Florida’s Luke Johnson to conclude his play at the tournament.
