MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State will be well represented in the Atlantic Sun Conference this year as the league announced the election of its officers for the 2010-11 academic year. President Dr. Daniel Papp will serve as Vice Chair of the Presidents Council and Chair of the Finance Committee while Director of Athletics, Dr. Dave Waples, will serve as the Vice President.
"It is an extreme honor for both KSU and me to be able to work with such a great group of schools and individuals," said Dr. Waples. “
The Management Committee includes the athletics directors, senior woman administrators and the faculty athletic representatives from each of the 11 member institutions. The Management Committee, along with all standing committees, conducts in-person meetings twice each academic year (October and June). The Presidents Council meets twice a year as well, after the Management Committee.
University of North Florida President John Delaney succeeds Bill Underwood (Mercer) as the Conference President and Chair of the Presidents Council. Delaney will preside over Presidents Council meetings, Management Committee meetings, and the Executive Committee.
In addition to Delaney and Waples, the Executive Committee includes ETSU’s Senior Associate Athletic Director Barbie Breedlove who will retain her role as A-Sun Secretary. Dr. Rich Tiner, Belmont’s Faculty Athletic Representative, remains the FAR delegate and Philip Hutcheson, Lipscomb’s Athletics Director will serve as the AD delegate.
