KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women’s basketball assistant coach Yolisha Jackson has resigned from her position with the Lady Owls to accept a similar position at the Air Force Academy.

“I am very thankful to Kennesaw State, Dr. Waples and Coach Tilley for giving me the opportunity to coach here over the past five years,” said Jackson. “I have grown so much professionally and personally over my time here. I have truly enjoyed every minute of my time with the Lady Owls and look forward to my future at the Air force Academy.”

Jackson has been with the Kennesaw State program since 2005, the program’s inaugural Division I season. Over her five years with the Lady Owls, Jackson was the recruiting coordinator, worked with the post players and overseeing academic progress and compliance issues. She also and helped the Black and Gold to a pair of winning seasons and the program’s first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference tournament berth.

“Yolisha has been a very important part of our staff for the past five years and she will be missed,” said head coach Colby Tilley. “The opportunity for her to join the coaching staff at the Air Force Academy is something she couldn’t pass up and we wish her all the best.”

Jackson will join the staff of Air Force first-year head coach Andrea Williams. Williams accepted the position with the Falcons after spending the last two years as an assistant coach at the University of South Florida.

“Being an assistant at Air Force is a great opportunity for me and I look forward to the chance to work under Coach Williams, who I played for when I was at Jacksonville,” concluded Jackson.

As a four-year star and all-conference performer for Jacksonville, Jackson ended her stellar playing career as the second player in JU history to score over 1,000 points in her career. She also left the Dolphins as the single-season record holder for points per game, points scored and career free-throws made.
